detritus CUC

I'm looking for opinions about CUC for detritus before the BlueZoo order goes in. It seems I just can't get enough flow to keep junk from settling on my rockwork and sand bed. My sand bed is too fine but I really don't want to take everything down and redo. So, it limits my flow options. Too much flow = large sand storm! I'm running a K4 and K3, a modded MP1200 and the sump return for water flow. I turkey baste the rocks often and siphon off the sandbed each week with my w/c. But, maybe ...

Ugh...my nano tank has like 10-15 aiptasia that just won't die and keep spreading, a lot of them are in places that are hard for me to reach, I have kalk pasted over several of them exactly one bazillion times , I have injected them with kalk, lemon juice, etc. Peppermint shrimp are out due to the high chance they will pick at or steal food from my non photo corals. What more can I do? I'm sure the heavy feedings the tank gets isn't helping matters and it's annoying as hell, the tank looks ...

Tiger Trochus

The tiger or black foot Trochus is without a doubt the most aggressive algae eating snail I have ever seen. These guys are non-stop eating. They have several advantages over the other algae eating snails. They are (1) photophobic (they hate the light) so they hide under the decoration/live rock when ...

[img][/img] So I have 2 questions.. The first is has anyone ever heard or seen as emerald crab be so close to a anemone? The moment the pink tip hit the water the emerald ran over to it and has not gone more than 5" or so away from it? I used to not see my emerald for days at a time and now he is always in plain sight which is cool but I just find it odd how he wont leave its side! AND the weirdest part is he will bring it food that I give to him, krill and what not...

Anyway question ...

Who all got clams?

Just seeing who all got some clam goodness yesterday and how they are doing, what lighting they are being kept under, etc. This is my first clam experience, so far so good but we shall see long term. Mine's in the 24 gallon under 150 watt halide. I can see this becoming an addiction.

Any of you experience a snail bloom b4? About 4 years ago I noticed There were thousands of barely visible snails in one of my tanks. These snails are now about 3/8" big. They are white and brown and seem to outcompete the little 6 legged starfish that used to be the cleanup crew. Any ideas?
