Water movement....

Post by Nannook on Wed Jan 20, 2010 6:05 am

I see many descriptions of requirements talk about water movement. So how can you tell? I have run my tank with my Koralia in various positions. I wish it was variable speed.

I was wondering about some threads I have read where they "slow down" the circulation in the tank in the evening to simulate night. Is this a common practice?

Not that I've heard. I've heard some stuff about doing that, but doesn't it doesn't seem like very many people do it.

Not to be the nerd but i do it with aquasurf and it is a surge power reduction.

Could we do it by turning off a powerhead or two at night if we had them on a controller?

Sorry to ask dumb questions but just trying to understand what this is going to do to the 210 if we add the Tunze and it has the other 2 powerheads. It just seems like a lot of movement for 24hrs.

I've seen the clowns trying to crawl up into the anemones with the current there is now at night.
