Frag Rack suggestions

Post by seafishinmn on Thu Feb 11, 2010 7:32 pm

What does everyone use for frag racks within their display tanks?
Do you make your own from acrylic or use eggcrate, or purchase one. If you purchased yours, what brand and do you like it?
thanks for any suggestions.

I don't have any but for the price I would just buy one of these, I like the clear ones.

Dan, where are the magnets located in your Walmart? How big are they? Not sure what Im looking for. Are they coated with a plastic or rubber material so they don't degrade in salt water.
Thanks dan

Thanks. That would really be appreciated. I made my first "frags" 2 weeks ago and they are balanced on a piece of scrap eggcrate in my sump. Theyd be happier in the display I think!

Myself I use the N52 Mags there small and super strong for there size on my racks, using Weld-on produces Acrylic and egg create projests usually are pretty simple..
Off the subject but here's a frag rack I'm starting for my Frag tank.

I just use the mag floats and eggcrate... it's cheap and easy, especially if you have an older mag float you don't use for cleaning anymore. I have 3 on mag floats and one on N52 magnets... The mag float ones do hold better and can be moved easier within the tank... The N52 ones work but they are a little harder to slide around and the magnets usually need to be coated with something before entering the tank.
