DIY Glass aquaruim

This is the beginnings of a new project.

This will become a 14" cube. It's 1/4" plate glass. The glass is from a piece that I found. I cut the glass myself using a hand cutter and a T-square. It took a little while to get decent cuts, but I am happy with how it turned out for my first piece.

Oooo, I can't wait to see how this turns out. What color silicone are you going to use?

Clear. HD sells a DAP product for doing aquariums.

I don't know if you have kicked the idea around, but do you like the idea of black silicone?

Yes and no. I've had tanks with both. I think I like clear better. But in some cases, the black adds a nice frame around the tank. That and black is not available in Bemidji, that I am aware of. I would not be opposed to making one with black, if that is what someone wanted, after I get a few of these under my belt.
