Starfish hitchhiker!

Post by seafishinmn on Sat Nov 22, 2008 7:47 am

Added sand last weekend, and newest "found" hitchhiker is a little buff colored starfish. It is maybe 1/4" diameter or smaller. Good or bad? Right now, he is spending all his time on the glass & overflow box.

He it so cool. Spend most of the time on the overflow, and then disappears. I think he goes thru the crack in the top of the overflow and into the overflow. Do you use some kind of strainer in your overflow to keep critturs from going into the sump?

I cut a piece of eggcrate and placed that on the top corner of the overflow. that would probably keep out fish and larger things, but not a smaller snail or starfish.

I dont think the snails would make it over the slots in the overflow ?I think that is why they have slot is to keep them from going over it??
