filter socks

Post by seafishinmn on Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:33 pm

Does anyone out there use filter socks?
Last weekend thought I'd try to make some and use them in my sump to cut down on the bubbles coming out of my overflow down into the sump. It did seem to reduce all of the turbulent water, but I get alot more water mist or spray it seems by using them. I do plan to change them out everyother day to prevent nitrate etc . buildup

I use them. I get em from fosters and smith, change out about every 3 days and wash in wash machine. Keeps a lot of crud from floatin around the tank.
