what is this

I found this in my main tank just floating around dont know what it is i've never got any thin like it it looks like birds nest but is soft and slippery i moved it to my nano tank so i dont lose it ?should i super glue it to a frag? or stuff it in a hole in a rock?

are you talking about the cream colored thing? if so it is a spunge...let it be they are good!!! if you take out a peice of rock you will see more on the bottom of the rock in the sand

do sponges srink or close up at night when the lights are off and when they come on get bigger or plump up, this thing does, when lights on its the size of a silver doller maybe a hair smaller but when lights are off its way smaller than a dime.

Uh, so probably not a sponge with that behavior. Most bizarre. Are you on Reef Central? I'd try posting a pic over there. I have no idea what that is. It's squishy? It really does look like a sponge but they don't really do that. More pictures!

Looks like sinularia or maybe a baby devils hand? but it does look like a type of leather.
