what coral for shady/low flow

Post by obsessed on Fri Apr 24, 2009 9:35 pm

Being as i am just getting into corals I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on what corals would be best for a shady area somewhat under a ledge. I have a sand bed so my powerheads are higher in the tank so this would be the lowest flow area. thanks

I would think you could have some frogspawn, xeina ,mushrooms ,zoa's annemones, some leathers, I think there is quite a few that you could put in there IMO.
I am running PC's on my nano and the stuff I have in there is doing awsome my xeina are getting way out of control I wish I could take some out but we are running a contest so I want to leave them in there.

I know this was posted last April so I'm kinda late on this but I notcied that you were told that you could do anemones I would say no on that they need alot of light, and a tank that has been up and running for at least a year or more.. if you have a 55 gal tank you would need MH bulbs to give a anemone enough light.. a nano with PC would be OK for a anemone because they are not very deep.. also if a anemone starts to look sick take it out it will kill off you tank they will give off a toxin
