Kinda a dumb question

Post by ranger_reefer on Tue May 19, 2009 4:39 pm

Well I decided to pick up a 29 gallon because it was a great deal and I figured if nothing else it would be a nice tank for a stomatopod when I decide to upgrade to a larger tank and it is drilled has lights and a skimmer for less than the price of the skimmer alone new and I found some live rock for about 2 bucks a pound from someone on tcmas. Well....I got everything home last weekend and the stand essentially exploded while I was moving it so now I've the live rock in a 10 gallon that was going to be the sump, with a heater and powerhead that I am attempting to keep alive until I get the motivation to build a stand...or win a great setup in a raffle. Wink My question is for now though should I pick up some sort of clean up crew for the rock until then or just let it go? The rock is getting some algae growth on it. Would a couple snails or a couple hermits be smart to throw in there now to try and clean the rock up or should I just let it go and pull it out and scrub it down with a nylon brush once I get motivated to build a stand?

Dont put a clean up crew in there. If the rock as some die off the spike may kill them. Just run it like you have it and when you go to put the rock in that 29g just take the nylon brush to it.
