No More pods??

Post by Home_Depot on Sun May 24, 2009 10:38 pm

Ok for the last year or so I have had 1000's of pods in my tank, well in the last month or so I do't see any in my tank. I used to be able to use a flash light after the lights went out and see them crawling all over the place, well I just looked and I think I counted 2 or 3.
So I am not sure what is going on. I have read the hermits will take down the pods at night,is that true? Also not sure if the water paramters would have anything to do with it? I did a test today and my levels were really low IMO. They were Ca-330,ALK 7.4,Mag 1080 I am starting to does all again.

I had 2 sand siffter stars and they have both died in the past 2 weeks, no pods anymore not sure what is going one, Nothing is dying off as far as coral or fish go."knock on wood"

So does anyone have any Phyto or Copepod cultures that would want to sell?

Hi Garrett

I have both phyto and pod cultures. I can sell them at the frag swap for a nominal cost.

I would bet money he could have demolished enough that they aren't running around all over the place. Back when I had mine I put him in my Aquapod while we moved the bigger tank and he ate every pod and flatworm in the tank in 3 days, didn't see any more for months and it was covered in them. Granted that's only a 12 gallon but they eat a ton. You still find any of those mysid shrimp you had running around or are they gone too?
